Researcher Profiles, Identifiers and Engagement

This guide provides information about how to create, use and promote your online research presence.

Engagement tools

Use social engagement tools to make connections with others working in your area of research, or others who might use your research.

A range of tools, commonly used by academic researchers, are outlined in this section.

The tools are grouped under the following four categories. Note though that many social engagement tools have more than one function and can be used within more than one of these categories. For example, blogging is listed under scholarly commentary but could also be a social activity.
