Core purpose of this guide

This libguide has been designed for students and staff of James Cook University who are studying or teaching one of our embedded subjects related to Aboriginal Australians and Torres Strait Islanders.

It can also be a good starting point for private and professional community members interested in finding resources to broaden their knowledge about Indigenous Australian issues, history, culture (both contemporary and traditional) and including family and community histories and how they  intersect with the broader Australian experience.

Please be aware though, access to some online resources requires a James Cook University user identification number and password.

We also advise that this website may contain images of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People who have passed away.
