This guide has been written to assist Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and South Sea Islander family historians locate sources available to them at James Cook University, as well as some suggestions for resources located elsewhere.

We are open to the public to visit and join. During the teaching semester hours we are also open Saturday and Sunday.

Public transport is available at both campuses. There are free public parking areas at both campuses.

Please be aware we do not offer dedicated research services, but can show you how to search for items in our collection and offer advice about other ways to access resources.

Community borrowing membership is available (fees may apply),  however you can visit the facilities, browse and read items without joining. We also offer interlibrary loans, if you are a member of a reciprocal library.
