Cairns campus library

The library is at the western end of the campus. It plays a central role in university life with most of what you need: books, computers, printers... and coffee just across the bridge! In addition to the massive amounts of journal articles, and research materials, there are teaching and group work facilities, a host of helpful staff, and a nice green area outside for studying, hanging out, and reading.

The library is also home to InfoHelp (librarian & tech support), AccessAbility services, (disability support), Learning Advice Desk (academic/learning support), Counselling and Careers and employment services.

The Eddie Koiki Mabo Library

The Eddie Koiki Mabo library is located at the centre of the Townsville Campus.

The library is named after Eddie Koiki Mabo, who used to spend time in the library when he worked as a gardener on the Townsville campus.

Mabo was working at JCU when he learnt that his people did not legally own their traditional lands, and he was instrumental in the court cases that lead to the Native Title Act. Eddie Koiki Mabo used the library to research information for his court cases and, in 2008, it was officially named after him.

The library is a central point of campus life in Townsville, and home to just about everything you need at uni - including the staples of university life; books, computers, printers, and coffee! In addition to the massive amounts of journal articles, and research materials, there are teaching and group work facilities, a 24x7 InfoCommons, a host of helpful staff, and a park-like area outside for studying, hanging out, and reading.

The library is also home to InfoHelp (librarian & tech support), AccessAbility services, (disability support), Learning Advice Desk (academic/learning support), Counselling and Careers and employment services.
