Search Smarter: Finding Information in Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences: Step 3: Limits

What are limits?

Limits let you target your searches and get more accurate results.  This will also cut down on the number of results you will get.

Some limits

Date: It is always good to focus on more up to date research with some historical perspectives if needed - think the last 5-10 years depending on your discipline.

Publication type: You can limit to journal articles, reviews, books, or conference papers depending on the database you are using.

Geography: You may need to focus on particular countries or regions in your search

Language: You may want to limit results to languages you can comfortably read
