Mental Measurements Yearbook

The Mental Measurements Yearbook provides consumer-oriented test reviews, providing evaluative information to promote and encourage informed test selection. 

The Library holds all editions of the MMY in print from the first edition in 1938 to 2017.

Searching for tests and measures

Psychology Test Libraries located on both Cairns and Townsville campuses contain:

  • a wide range of tests
  • reference books; and
  • audio visual material.

Material is made available to students, staff and public, however, access and borrowing restrictions do apply.

Contact the Psychology Head of Department for more information including listing of materials and opening hours.

When using tests and measures found online, be careful to ensure that you are using resources from credible sources. The following online tests have been recommended to students at other Australian universities:

Having trouble finding information on tests and measures? Here are some handy tips that may help you:

  • Try searching for the test's acronym as well as the full name of the test, e.g. WPPSI-IV and Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence  
  • Try searching for the name of the person who created the test
  • Phrase searching where words in-between " " are kept together, e.g. "intelligence tests"
  • Truncation searching where a word ending is replaced with *. It will find you all variations of the word, e.g. measur* will give you measure, measures, measurement and measurements
