Services for Secondary Schools: Open access & open educational resources

A guide for teachers and students

Open Access Resources

You can access JCU's electronic resources on the public access computers in the library, but many Open Access Resources (OERs) are available online anywhere, anytime for a wide range of disciplines.

There are 2 ways to find Open Access Resources via JCU Library:

1. Enter your terms in the One Search basic search box, click Search and then filter the results using the 'Open Access' heading on the left hand side of the screen. If you are using Advanced Search, select the Open Access option. You can also add other filters such as content type, subject heading and publication date.

2. Select 'Open Access' as a database type in our A-Z Databases guide. These databases can be refined by Subject area. Open Access databases include the Open Textbook Library, Google Book Search and Trove.
