JCU Library Experience Procedures

Library Furniture

  • Purpose: 
    • To keep a track of current furniture placements

 THINGS TO REMEMBER AS YOU WALKAROUND:

  • Furniture Reset: On Monday and Thursday Morning, both the LEAs and shelvers will do a full furniture reset together.

Please ensure that you are going up together, and not one party is doing the reset by themselves.

  • Accessible Study Pod: If you see any black, pc chairs in the accessible study pod on the Second Floor please remove it and return it to the proper area

  • Whiteboards: all whiteboards should be on either Ground floor or 1st floor: If you see whiteboards on 2nd floor, please bring them down. If there are a lot of whiteboards in one area, please redistribute to their designated area. (They are labelled) Move any out of walkways and away from the Artwork. 

  • Bean bags: all bean bags should be kept on 1st floor: if you see them on 2nd floor, bring them back down and distribute throughout the floor (there should no more than 3 in any one area, and not in main areas e.g. Coliseum.) Move any out of walkways and away from the Artwork. 

  • Move any furniture that is in front of fire extinguishers, fire exits and stairs should be a 2 meter gap.

Please make sure that you are also:

  • Pushed in any black PC Chairs that are in walkways
  • Pick up any books that have been left on benches and bring them down to the desk
  • Pick up any rubbish you find and place it in bins
  • Report any maintenance needed; including broken furniture, flickering lights and spills or stains. To the Library Experience team. 
  • If you see cords blocking Walkways please let one of the Library Experience Team members know so it can be shifted or removed.
