Scholarship of learning and teaching research is different from most disciplinary-based research.
SoLT research can be conducted through many different methodologies. However, it often takes place in a unique context that makes it difficult for other educators to replicate. Consequently, SoLT research is often presented as a case study.
The findings from your context are not generalisable to other context's so a theoretical or conceptual framework is needed to explain them. When you are designing your project and reviewing existing scholarship in the area that you are interested in, consider the theoretical/conceptual frameworks that have been used to explain the findings. Will they be suitable for your project? Try to avoid 'retro fitting' theoretical frameworks.
