Finding resources beyond the library in One Search

Expanding your searching

Citation searching enables you to find articles that have cited the excellent article you have already found. You can do this via the tools in academic databases and in Google Scholar. Remember, the articles you find with this method will be newer than the article you have already found.

Footnote searching or cited references searching means examining the reference list of the article you have found to find other relevant sources. Remember these articles will be older than the article you are reading.

About freely available sources - Grey literature

Company annual reports, government documents, industry reports, and other non-commercially published information are referred to as grey literature. Usually findable via a Google search, this information can be valuable in writing your assessments. See the Finding Grey Literature library guide for detailed information.
