The links below will take you to short videos that describe the basics of searching. Before delving into more advanced search strategies, examine the basics as the advanced skills content assumes the basics are already known.
Citation searching enables you to find articles that have cited the excellent article you have already found. You can do this via the tools in academic databases and in Google Scholar. Remember, the articles you find with this method will be newer than the article you have already found.
Footnote searching or cited references searching means examining the reference list of the article you have found to find other relevant sources. Remember these articles will be older than the article you are reading.
Company annual reports, government documents, industry reports, and other non-commercially published information are referred to as grey literature. Usually findable via a Google search, this information can be valuable in writing your assessments. See the Finding Grey Literature library guide for detailed information.
