Using One Search

Using the library's search tool, One Search, to find journal articles, books, book chapters and much, much more.

How to find items beyond our collections

You can use One Search to search for material we do not hold, but could request from another library.

Click on the option to "Add results beyond the library's collection" in the Filters menu:

Click on the toggle to add results beyond the library's collection. If you have not selected any filters, it will be at the top of the filters menu. If you have already selected some filters, you will find it under the filtes you have selected.

Requesting items not held by us

To request an item we do not hold, it currently depends on whether you are requesting an article/book chapter or a physical item.

Journal articles/book chapters

For an article or book chapter that we do not hold, scroll down to the option to Request From Another Institution and click on Request This Item:

Drop down the "Request This Item" option

It should self-populate the form, but check to make sure all of the fields with a star are filled in correctly. For a book chapter, check to make sure the correct page numbers are included.

See Instructions on how to request a book chapter or journal article.

Requesting complete books and physical items

Books, physical items and other resources not held in the JCU collection may be requested using the Resource Sharing Request Form. Include as much detail as possible on the form to help us to locate the item.

For more details, including costs and eligibility, see:
