How to get the most out of your subject readings at JCU

Requesting creation of a Readings list shell

Use the Reading list request for Academic Staff form to request a list.

Librarians will create the list and link it to the to the Readings hierarchy and the correct time period.

Include details of List Owners and List Publishers, as well as any Prescribed or Recommended textbooks.

You will receive an invitation to access the list once the list is created.

You will need to 

List shells will be created within two business days of your request.

Note: The list only needs to be requested once and will be rolled over to reuse in subsequent years.

Roles in Readings

Once a Reading list has been created you will receive an email invitation from noreply@talisaspire.com.

  • Follow the link in the email to accept the invitation.
  • You can also find and accept invitations under the 'My invites' tab in your Readings profile.

This invitation will also provide details of the role you have been assigned for this list. Readings uses roles to assign permissions for particular tasks.

Subject coordinators or main lecturers have the role of List Owner.

  • You can add multiple owners into the List Owners space on the reading list.
  • The list owners names will appear at the top of the list.

List owners can also add additional staff to edit and publish lists and transfer lists to new owners

All users are assigned the role List Publisher. This role allows you to:
