How to get the most out of your subject readings at JCU

Readings Workshops and Training

Would you like a workshop?

Workshops are available for groups of teaching staff who would like training or support to use the Readings system. Use this form and tell us the type of workshop and location you require. 

Need support?

The Library can support you in creating a Readings list that is valuable to students and easy to maintain.

Contact the Library:

  • in person at the Library Service Desk during staffed hours
  • Online via email
  • Live Chat during staffed hours
  • One-on-one appointment with your subject Liaison Librarian (either in person or via Zoom). 
    • Your liaison librarian can also provide you with teaching support, including help with the Your Library tool in LearnJCU, LibGuides for your subject and information literacy training (in multiple formats) for your students.

 

Library Workshops & Events

Keep an eye on the Library Workshops & Events page for upcoming Readings Refresher for Academic Staff workshops. You will need to register for these sessions to receive the Zoom link.

These workshops will cover the basics of creating a reading list including: 

  • Adding the bookmark extension to your browser

  • Using the bookmark tool to create a record – journal article and a book chapter

  • Making sure the metadata is correct

  • Requesting digitisations

  • Linking a list to a LearnJCU subject site

  • Readings Best Practice
