Chapter 1: 'You and the University' (pages 3-11).
Contact hours refer to the hours spent in lecture rooms, tutorial rooms, laboratories etc.
Your timetable includes approximately 20 contact hours per week.
However, the normal expectation is that each 3-unit subject will require at least 10 hours of work per week.
Therefore, a student enrolled for four subjects will need to allow at least another 20 hours per week of study time in addition to the contact hours.

What do you hope to gain from tertiary study?

The Pharmacy degree at JCU is offered only by internal mode – this means you must attend all classes at JCU Townsville.
Choosing to undertake the Pharmacy course requires you to fully commit yourself to attending classes and other learning experiences whenever they are conducted.
It is expected that you will attend all classes – it is generally not acceptable to start your holidays a few days early, or to start your studies a few days late. Similarly, you should not assume that it is acceptable to miss classes to take long weekends.
