Placement Uniform

Female Placement Uniforms:
Blue shadow stripe plus the JCU logo
Available in ¾ sleeve or short sleeve.
Tailored skirt in charcoal OR
Tailored pants in charoal

Male Placement Uniforms:
Blue shadow stripe plus the JCU logo
Available in short or long sleeve.
Tailored pants in charcoal

 All students must wear black, enclosed shoes for placement.

Smoking

There is a smoke-free policy within the University and therefore smoking is not permitted in any buildings.  It is unacceptable for students to smoke in placement uniform in a public place.

Jewellery

Jewellery should be kept to a minimum whilst you are on clinical placements.  Visible and/or multiple body piercing jewellery can be offensive to patients and members of the profession and should be kept to a minimum and/or removed whilst the student is undertaking clinical placement.

Placement Staff

The Pharmacy Placement Coordinator is Mrs Loretta Woodford.  Mrs Woodford is located in 047-004 (enter via the student entrance) and can be contacted on email (loretta.woodford@jcu.edu.au) or by telephone (4781 6976).

The Placement Coordinator supports the Placement Pharmacist.  Loretta is responsible for collating placement documents (i.e., Hepatitis B, First Aid and Blue Card documentation), along with the arrangement of placements in 1st, 3rd and 4th years.  Loretta also coordinates the allocation of placements and if you have any questions of an administrative nature she will discuss these with you.  Loretta is the first point of contact for placement information.

The Placement pharmacist is Mr Joe Grasso.  Mr Grasso is located in 047-031 and can be contacted on email (joseph.grasso@jcu.edu.au) or by telephone (4781 5299).

The Placement Pharmacist is responsible for the academic side of placements. Joe takes care of placements on an educational level, prepares the workbooks for placement and organises the marking of the placement activities.  If you have any queries regarding your activities whilst on placement, Joe is the person to speak to.
