Guide to citing & referencing in this author, date style for JCU students

Maps - Electronic

Format:

Map Publisher with version (if applicable) Year data released, Image details - location, co-ordinates, elevation. Format/Data set (if applicable),  Date viewed, <URL>.

Example:

Google Earth 9.2 2018, James Cook University Cairns campus, Cairns, 16°49'05"S, 145°41'20"E, elevation 26M. 2D map, viewed 18 April 2018, <http://www.google.com/earth/index.html>.

In-text citation:

Google Earth (2018) shows the building locations for the Cairns campus.

Maps - print

Format:

Map Publisher Year of publication, Title of map, Series (if available), Publisher, Place of publication.

Example:

Queensland Department of Mines and Energy 1996, Dotswood, Australia 1:100 000 geological series, sheet 8158, Department of Mines and Energy, Queensland, Brisbane.

In-text citation:

… reading this map (Queensland Department of Mines and Energy 1996)
