Structure refers to the organisation and arrangement of parts that make up a piece of writing.

For example, the Persuasive Essay Example has a conventional structure for the genre of an essay which includes an introduction, body and conclusion. A different structure for a different genre such as a short story could include an orientation, complication and resolution.
