Definition (formal)

Agreement refers to the need for consistency between different words in a sentence that relate to each other.

Resources (informal)

Agreement: Does this word go with that word?

Example

For example, the following sentence contains a lack of agreement between the subject (Nature) and the verb (are) in the following sentence. The verb should be 'is'.

Nature are defined as inherited genetics that affect behaviour and ability.
