What programs work with EndNote

EndNote can be used with a number of software packages

The following software provides Cite While You Write (CWYW) tools within the software:


  Microsoft Word 2007, 2010*, 2013*, and 2016*

  Microsoft PowerPoint 2007, 2010*, 2013*, and 2016*

  Apache OpenOffice 3.x

  LibreOffice 4.x, 5.x, 6.x (32-bit)


  Microsoft Word 2011, 2016 (version 15.21.1 or later)

  Apple® Pages









You can also format papers using EndNote for software that save .RTF files or .ODT files:

  Google Docs

 WordPad for supported Windows versions 11, 12, 13, 14

 Apache OpenOffice versions 1, 2.x, 3.x

 Word Perfect versions 11, 12, 13, 14

   Google Docs

  TextEdit for supported Macintosh OSX versions 1, 2.x, 3.x, 4.x

  Nisus Writer Macintosh OSX version
